The Hollywood Reporter revealed Monday that film star Johnny Depp will team up with crypto-centric entertainment streaming platform TaTaTu.
The company is owned by producer and entrepreneur Andrea Iervolino who runs AMBI media group alongside Monika Bacardi.
TaTaTu Official October 22, 2018.According to the Reporter, Depp and Ierovino began their partnership with the project Waiting for the Barbarians, a novel adaptation.
The film to be produced by AMBI and star Depp will begin shooting later this month in Morocco.
Getting Into Crypto-tainmentDepp will work with TaTaTu to produce both film and digital content for the platform under his company moniker Infinitum Nihil, which has produced films such as Hugo, Dark Shadows, and the Lone Ranger reboot.
TaTaTu launched only six months ago, raising more than $500M over the summer with its token pre-sale, and has already signed on major names.
Paying For Your AttentionAccording to their website, TaTaTu rewards users for watching and sharing media content on their platform by paying them with its proprietary TTU token, while also paying people to create content on their platform.
"Provides full transparency on exactly how content generates revenue for all parties."
The company has also built a social media element into the platform that rewards users for posts and reviews and recently launched a new beta version of its service.
As of now, its movie selection appears limited to films produced just for TaTaTu, but game offerings include Call of Duty, Zelda, and Titanfall.
